Low Income Senior Discount Overview English & Spanish - printable version

Qualified Franklin PUD customers can receive a 15% or 30% monthly discount based on age, and total annual household income. The discount is effective the day the certification is completed and approved. Only one discount per household allowed and will be applied to the residence where customer resides. A certification will be required every year or upon request of the District in order to continue receiving the monthly discount.

How to Get Certified:

To apply or re-certify your discount, please contact Franklin PUD’s Customer Service Department at (509) 547-5591 Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m. to schedule a certification appointment.

Required Documents:

  • Valid WA State Driver License or ID

Two of the following:

  • Copy of bank statement(s) showing a direct deposit of Social Security or pension benefit(s)
  • Benefit award letter(s) from Social Security or Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS)
  • Proof of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • 2020 Tax Return documents

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must provide all required documentation
  • Applicant must have electric service under Rate Schedule No.1 Residential and Small Farm Service.
  • Applicants must be 62 years of age or older and have a total annual income (including income of spouse or co-tenants) for the previous calendar year as set in the guidelines below:
