Promoting good stewardship of energy resources
Everyone benefits from Franklin PUD's conservation programs. Over 3,559 residents have participated in our weatherization program saving annually 9,253,400 kilowatt hours (KWHs). This conservation effort allowed us to add more than 400 new homes to our community without increasing generation needs. More than 100 District commercial customer's energy saving projects are saving over 7 million KWH annually. Our industrial customer's energy efficiency improvements save over 1 million KWH annually. Our irrigation customer's conservation projects have conserved over 1.6 million KWH annually.

These substantial savings are a benefit to everyone, in business or not. This savings effort postponed our need to build new fossil fuel power plants and stretched the use of our wonderful hydropower and other existing generation.
